Banana Vats and Solo Show

It’s been a little while, and I’m pleased to announce the opening of my solo show ‘Umbral’ here in Oaxaca at NN Galeria. If you’re in the neighbourhood then please do drop by or drop me a message and I’ll be able to give you a tour.

This exhibition continues my exploration of the complex relationship between humanity and the natural world — a theme that forms the undercurrent of all my creative work. Many of the works were made using natural pigments and a process of staining raw canvas — a technique rooted in traditional materials and methods, which I’ve been developing over the past few years during my time in Oaxaca and Colombia.

Speaking of natural pigments, you might remember I recently mentioned the incredible deep blue you can extract from indigo (Indigofera suffruticosa).
